I was suprise that out of the box it was pretty close to being right in tune. The on board tuner,3 directional is easy to use. I have not plugged it into a amp yet. The sound without an amp. is very clear and tone carries well and loud enough for me. This is my 1st cutaway and it is the good easy way to get down on the highs without hand stretch as much. I looked this over and the workmanship is good but not excellent. The paint and trim is smooth as it blends together in the edges really fine. The mother of pearl guard adds coolness to the black color. One thing of warning! Like laquer paint does, one bump and it's hairline crack and dent you get. Be very carefull in this aspect and use a hard case. The neck is a bit rough on the edges and fret bars kind of high I think. The strings are good and the adjusters and head are the key! They bring back the "Strat'O'caster" head that screams "Fender" on this model once again. And it makes it nice having adjusters all in a row.
