Gold Tone TG-10 Tenor Guitar (Four String, Natural) Review

When my tenor guitar arrived I was pleasantly surprised with the fit and finish. The sound is very bright with very little bass which is what you would expect from a tenor. The action is a little high so I plan to take it to a luthier for a set-up. The few dollars extra is justified since a Martin tenor is twice the price of the Goldtone. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend this guitar.

I have never owned a brand new guitar before this one. I have owned dozens of guitars over the years and worked on and built maybe thousands. No joke.
That being said, my guitar came to me seemingly non set up. Intonation was waaay off.
Fixed that and it plays pretty much in tune now.
Still needs the nut filed properly. The String trees kind of suck, but that's an easy fix.
Pickups are good. Not well balanced though.
So, I'm not really sure why, but I really like this guitar! Buy it And get it set up and you might love yours. Finish is good and neck is comfortable. That's all folks

Hisonic 75 Watt portable and wireless PA system, HS322 Review

I have used this unit frequently for over a year now, and have been incredibly pleased with it. The unit has clear, crisp sound at all frequencies (both voice and music sources work well). Wireless mics meet or even exceed the rated range. Battery life is essentially undiminished even after a year of use. I have used the handheld mics as well as the lavelier mic belt packs-- no discernable difference in quality from either transmitter source. I have successfully used this for crowds of 100 both indoors and outdoors. In my experience, sound quality outdoors starts getting muddy at about 200 feet, which is entirely acceptable given the unit's size.

I did manage to come up with a few nits...
Lav mic has a rather narrow pickup angle compared to the handheld units.... getting it aimed properly got to be a bit annoying, and I tend to use the handheld more often as a result.

I get more static interference when under battery power than under A/C power. Strangely enough, retracting the antenna of the receiver when on battery power has proven to eliminate 90% of the interference when it does occur.

Hofner Icon Series Beatle Bass Guitar - Sunburst Review

As a professional musician and university music professor, I have pretty high standards. Of course, I'm primarily a woodwind performer, and although I've fooled around with guitar since high school, this was my first electric bass guitar. Hofner's Icon model has cheaper wood and generally some cheaper parts than their professional level basses, but I love this instrument. The short scale is perfect for moving seamlessly between guitar and bass and makes technically demanding passages easier than on a standard scale bass. I've gotten to the point where I've taken the bass to parties and played a couple of paying gigs with it. The intonation is pretty good, although it is not up to the level of professional instruments. The main issue is that 1st fret notes are very sharp. The movable bridge is a little tricky to work with, too. I found that I just had to find a spot where there was a fairly decent blend of string height, string angle, and scale for the intonation. Generally, the switches and pickups seem to work pretty well, although the switches get just a little flaky when the temperature and humidity conditions change rapidly. I find that the strings that come with it work ok, but that flat wound strings really improve it, making it useful for rock and jazz playing. I did have to do some minor work on the frets, since two of them were set a little lower than the rest, but just a little adjustment eliminated fret buzz. It's no pre-CBS Fender, to be sure, but for less than $400, it looks good, sounds good, and is lightweight and easy to play.

Hohner Essential Parlor Guitar Review

I am really excited about this guitar, the sound and build quality is great. In my opinion the guitar is "as advertised" Now for the not so great. The micro thin finish that they advertise means the top will be susceptible to dings and scratches, not good not bad, just know that. Second, good luck finding a case. This is not a true parlor size guitar, the body is smaller but the overall length of the guitar is 40"! That is the same length as my Dreadnought. The guitar fits tight (in terms of length) in my 000 sized case, it might fit better in a Dreadnought case but that would be huge. I'll have to do some looking.
