Product Description
TreeWorks Chimes. In the summer of 1996, was created by Mitch McMichen. It began in his garage in Nashville, Tennessee. The first set of chimes was made with a hacksaw and a hand drill. It didn't look like much, but that was the first step to crafting the perfect set of chimes. When asked about the early days of TreeWorks, Mitch replies, "I wasn't trying to start a company. I was trying to find a sound." Since then has grown to become the most respected chimes in the percussion world -- used by top studio and touring drummers and percussionist as well as the top 24 drum corps. These instruments are still handmade in Nashville, Tennessee and are unmatched in craftsmanship and sound quality. (It is of note that Mitch McMichen has earned Gold and Platinum records for his recording work in Nashville.)TreeWorks Chimes TRE35db Large Double Row Chime Review
The pianist in my post-fusion group has baffled me for years. Through gigs and rehearsals, I was under constant scrutiny and direction. Commands of "STICK! BLUSH! CHOP! FIRE! ELVIN!" were continually streaming from his mouth. This lack of sense is due (in theory) to a combination of his mixed heritage and a debilitating caffeine addiction. Prolonged exposure to lab rats may also be a contributing factor. But that is for another review altogether...LOL!
After said pianist presented the group with his 'F# Major Song', the group had hit a new low. As I was about walk out of rehearsal and ultimately sacrifice my spot in the band, I picked up a small set of chimes which I had just purchased. When the piano player heard me play these chimes along with one of his wandering composition, I had instant credibility as a real musician. Encouraged by this surprise change of heart, I purchased the product you are viewing, this luscious Treeworks 69 Bar Double-Wide Chime. Now the only words I hear coming from the piano are "CHIME! CHIME! CHIME!" This chime sound is so thick that I can use it solo for the whole set, except, of course, for the occasional CLAVE.
