This is a beautiful piece of decor, and sounds OK, (it's not big enough for a rich tone) but 12 strings are not really enough to play, unless you're content with plucking out a tune with no accompaniment in the left hand. I recommend no fewer than 24 strings. My lap harp has 26 strings, and I use all of them.

On the other hand, if you want something pretty to carry around, this is lovely, and would be a nice addition to a costume.
