I've heard and played through them all, and this one just has "the sound" ...for me anyway...if you want creamy crunch for rhythms, and violin sounding leads (use a les paul or like I do, prs single cut)...just pony up the cash...it's just money...I freakin love this amp!!...makes crappy riffs sound good...the clean is very nice,...but it's not as cool as my blues deluxe for clean,..but is definitely nice...a little hairy at higher volumes...that's where the 100w version might be a little better....but you don't buy this amp for the clean...it's all about dirty with the amp...just how I like my women...I compared it to my friends mesa mark 5 and I like this better...I hate having to tweak amps forever to get them to sound good...and it takes a while to get a good mesa sound...(tho when you do it's excellent) and it might be more versatile,...but I like how the orange sounds great with whatever changes you make to it...they zeroed in on just what I'm lookin for..!!.
an unexpected extra for the amp was the fx loop...I use a pod hd500 at night when I don't want to awaken the neighborhood, and just for giggles plugged it into the fx return...it makes the hd500 come to life!!...at very low volumes,...so I could record solo's late that still have a little pizzazz...the hd 500 is great for rhythm but has a lifeless quality sometimes for solos....I kinda like it even with the cab simulator on!!..it gets really fat sounding...it's not perfect,..but great for late night noodling...
anyway...I love it and won't be parting with it any time soon...if ever...if it dissappeared, I'd cry, then go buy the 100w head...for lots of money...I'd cheat and lie and steal to get the money...
