I own a lot of odyssey cases and enjoy them. They are heavier than the plastic alternatives. I've dropped a few of them and have found them to keep the gear safe under even the most strenuous conditions. They are thin plywood glued to a plastic laminate.the ball corners are steel and the edges are riveted aluminum with a interlocking v joint. The tops fit well. the butterfly hinges are great.
These cases look pro. You can find a better price than amazon, check full compass.
I really like the cord wholes, there are 3 of them, one per each side and then on the back. You will find them under the odyssey bottom label. I've just taken all of mine off so i can slip cords neatly into the case from all sides.
