This bass just arrived yesterday and I am quite happy with it after gigging with it last night. The tone is what you would expect from the Fender logo-adorned humbuckers. Vintage! The finish is flawless, sometimes cheaper Fender models lack attention to detail but their Chinese factories have got it right with this one.

I was hesitant about the pickguard being single-ply on the Butterscotch model, but once I peeled the protective film off, the material it's made of seems to be very good, and not cheap and flimsy as I was expecting. The lacquered neck and polished frets make this bass really pop! I'll probably slap on an ashtray bridge cover to give it more of a retro appearance. Set-up and intonation is near-perfect out of the box. I am very pleased with this purchase, especially for the price!
