East West Quantum Leap RA Review

Love this library. Ideal for use in ethnic or world music projects for film, television, and games. A must have. This library has an innovative approach to sample libraries which is why the cost is higher - much like the Vienna series. Samples are not only hypersampled for the velocity of the note, but some patches include keyswitches which allow you to select different voicings of the same instrument on the fly. Very cool way to inject more feeling and realism into your sequences. The production team is Hollywood-based and has decades of experience working in film and television entertainment as well as access to Hollywood recording facilities. Looking forward to more titles from these guys.

The bad is that I find the browser tool (which is nearly universal for Quantum Leap libraries) a little awkward and underdesigned. They could take some lessons from Native's Massive browser which organizes patches based on keywords and I find it intuitive. It would also be useful to display a navigation breadcrumb control along the top while traversing the folders rather than multiple panes.

Also, the user interface consumes too much real estate. (There's a big orb in the middle of the UI naming the library which is pretty much useless space.) I understand that the UI houses several different libraries and is a fixed size. Would recommend that they have a "mini" display mode or try to find a way to knock about 20% off of the UI's area.
