Pyle-Pro PMX1609 16 Channel Professional Digital (DSP) Console Stereo Mixer Review

Being in Radio Broadcasting for many years and maintaining a home recording studio,I was impressed with the Pyle 1609. The board arrived and I have had time to install the board into my rack equipment in the studio.I have downloaded a pdf file of the owners manual and read through quite a bit of the manual.I am impressed by some of the stated capabilities of the mixer.I am a bit leary about onboard reverb and digital delay that the 1609 has,although the effects sound decent, Most onboard effects don't sound good at all except for kareoke purposes and NOT good for recording or broadcasting.But having an outboard rack mounted reverb-digital delay,that doesn't bother me to much as the 1609 has sends and returns for outboard effects.It seems a bit strange that inputs 9/10 and 11/12 have gain control on inputs yet 13/14 and 15/16 do not..From some of the reviews I have read on here about other Pyle products,I am hoping the 1609 can and will deliver what it claims and that the board is built well and rugged.Many other Pyle products on Amazon have a very bad rating for being reliable or arriving without something being broken.I had no reviews to go by so this must be a new product for Pyle.Even their 12 channel board has no reviews.The mixer arrived in good shape although the inner box the mixer was packed in indicated some rough handling by UPS.The faders are fairly smooth.Pyle crammed alot into the 1609 and as such,some of the assign buttons between knobs are hard for my big fingers to push. each input has an on and off push button that lites,a feature I like since it lets me know when the mic is hot.For broadcasting,this is a MUST!!!You NEVER say anything you don't want to go out over the air in a control room so if I see the mic input on,I turn it off!The 1609 has phantom power on all it's mic inputs which are balanced and the mic preamps sound good.Each input has 3 band eq and the main output has eq for the stereo outs.Sub mixes have their own volume on each channel and assign switches for AB and CD or all out sub mixes.Pyle has a one year warrenty and you can get an extra 3 months added to that when you register your mixer on their website.The PMX-1609 is alot of mixer for a very reasonable price.You can spend hundreds more on other mixers but this 16 channel mixer is attractive looking and performs well!
