Riptide, All Mahogany Baritone-size Ukulele - Satin FinishRiptide UB-5NS Baritone Ukulele - Satin Finish Review
Received it, and opened it up. I was very excited, because this is my first Ukulele. I got a Baritone, because I play and teach guitar. It uses the same tuning as the top four strings of the guitar. I plan to use it with my younger students as a tool to learn chord shapes, and use it for myself, because I love all forms of music. The Sound: To me it sounds pretty good! The hole configuration is different, but it works nicely, and you can hear yourself.
Construction: I was a little worried after I ordered it because some of the other reviews I have seen, but I am very pleased. I think that they fixed some finishing issues, and it is light and sturdy. Different but pretty darn cool looking to me. Nice little bonus is that they put Aquila Nygut strings on it. Intonation seems right on, and no crazy fret edges or anything like that. Only thing that I would like to see is a little better tuners, but they work, and that is what really matters!
One little issue: I have had the Uke for a day now, and the "D" string broke at the tuning head. I am hoping this is just an anomaly, which I am pretty sure it is.
Anyway, Would I recommend it? Certainly!
Hope this helps!
