This is a really great sounding guitar. I am surprised by how well it plays considering the price. It doesn't have as wide range of tone as epiphone les paul standard, but the range it has, sound just as good if not better than lespaul std. I'm really blown away by this guitar for only under $200. Very solid construction, a great choice for beginer/second guitar to purchase.

I bought this for my girfriend for christmas. It sounds great, has a humm or two every once in a while, but so do most stringed instruments. It is much louder than I expected it to be, and has a nice tone. I would say its a really good beginner mandolin. My biggest complaint is that there was some assembly required, but it wasn't all that hard, and it sounds like that is the case with most mandolins purchased outside of a music store. A solid instrument and they stand behind it with a warranty. I am satisfied with my purchase.

I love it! Plays great, even high up on the neck near the pickups. Arrived perfectly set up...no intonation problems. Action is great, sound is great...and looks great!

Only issue is a pretty bad static hum...not sure what to do about it. Reduces when touching strings...but never completely silent.

In summary: very attractive, but constantly makes annoying noise...a description fitting of this bass as well as several women I've dated over the years.

UPDATE: The static hum is actually less bad than I originally thought. It's worse for direct-line recording...but running through a bass amp it's pretty manageable...you may just need to tweak your EQ/amp settings a bit. I still do LOVE this bass.

ESP KH-202 - Black Kirk Hammett (Metallica) Signature Electric Guitar Review

I have had my KH 202 for about four months now, and I have been very happy with it. It is a great looking instrument, and has a very balanced feel. The skull inlays are very eye-catching, and really give it that metal edge. The action was adjusted perfectly from the factory. Low and fast, easy to play. The licensed Floyd Rose trem works beautifully, and stays in tune better than my Dean hardtail. The EMG designed pickups have a good sound and tone range. I'm going to update them with a hotter passive EMG H4/H4A pair in the near future. If you are a Kirk Hammett or Metallica fan, this is your ticket for under 500 dollars. Even if you aren't, you will not be disappointed with this guitar.

ESP LTD AX50 Electric Guitar - (Black) Review

I usually play BC Rich or Jackson, but after seeing this guitar in a pawn shop for a reasonable price, I could not resist it. Let me say this here and now, the action on this guitar is pure perfection. From the 1st fret to the 25th you can do it all. Those really hard solos that go down to the 23rd and 24th frets are so much easier now that I have been playing this.

The strings are strung through the back of the body and run over a solid bridge. This is the first guitar I've had like this, but these 'rear loaders' make the guitar feel very stable and sturdy. There are no locking nuts on the top neck nut, but this guitar stays in tune without any locking at all.

The 12th fret is marked 'AX50' in a little rectangle, the rest of the inlays are standard dots.

I would recommend this guitar to anybody, from a beginner to a pro, this axe is THE BOMB!

Fender Blacktop Telecaster HH, Rosewood Fingerboard - Candy Apple Red Review

Update. I play this guitar at east an hour everyday and it continues to be outstanding in every way. Time for some new strings. I'm running it through a Mustang II on the clearer settings for blues, It sounds terrific. I did buy a strap for it and It is heavy but I'm getting used to it.

I receive this three days age on have a hard time putting it down. I have been looking at this guitar for over a year and finally pulled the trigger on it. The fit and finish are outstanding. Not a flaw anywhere to be found. The red contrasted with the dark fret board, pick guard and chrome is stunning. The setup is good although once, and if, I take a break from playing it I may tweak it just a tad. The sound from those humbuckers is rich, from jazzy to twangy with deep mellow blues in-between. I play a lot of blues and this fit the bill. This is a heavy guitar. I don't know as I would want to hang it around my neck for long. I sit when I play so it is not a concern. I love my Strat but I really like the simplicity of the hard tail. My Strat is catching up to me in a move but when it finally arrives it'll be hard to decide which to puck up. I own some expensive guitars and have handled a lot of American made fenders and they are fantastic, no doubt, but at least for my skill level, the Americans are hard to justify with this kind of quality coming out of Mexico.

Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special, Rosewood Fretboard - 3-Color Sunburst Review

When it comes to guitars, I'm all about customizing and tailoring the guitar to my taste. So I'm not one to spend large amounts of money on guitars. The jazzmaster has been my most expensive guitar to date, and I have to say, it was worth the extra money. Being an MIM, I didn't expect much in terms of setup, but it was very playable out of the box; the action was very good and the electronics were wired surprisingly well--better than my MIM Jazz bass, at least. I'd definitely suggest buying from Amazon, or online, it's worth the wait. Some people may hesitate because shipping a guitar can be risky, but I say it's worth it; at least you know the guitar was never touched after manufacture, something you risk when buying from your local music store chain.
The pickups are nice, but I'll probably switch them out for SD Antiquities, this is mostly preference. I'm sure most will be fine with the stock pickups though. Keep in mind that the stock bridge has a tendency to buzz a lot, which is definitely the nature of this instrument. It's not as noticeable when plugged into an amp, at least for me, but it can be annoying when playing 'unplugged'. Yet another piece of hardware I'll have to replace. Definitely a nice guitar and worth the price.
